Facing the Pain

We sometimes find it necessary to travel to consult the oracle, and to sleep in the muse’s guest room. These fecund occasions can bring enlightenment, but sometimes not without over exposure to the raw power of the experience. Back home, I find myself exhausted, in need of some deep napping. But before I close my eyes, a first panoramic offspring from the trip must be given. This one captures the final moments of the journey and provides a neat allegorical summary. Hawks Doing It

I spied these two hawks “doing it” at Bryan Park Sunday. It was quite a sight, and one that I wasn’t going to post at first. Then I saw Jude’s “Copping a Feel,” and somehow thought it might be germane.

After the “act,” Bryan Park’s own version of “Winged Victory.” Not quite the Louvre, but it’s not every day you get to see two hawks doing it.
