A friend who works at NASA Ames takes pictures while on commercial flights. He got a great picture of the Arizona Meteor Crater with his point-and-shoot. This was my first attempt at such stuff.
I worked with aerial photographers in Honduras & Guatemala in 1974. One of the major duties I had was to keep the old duffers out of trouble since they spoke no Spanish and since they’d “flown in WWII & Korea and could land any damn place” they please, I was the go-between the local jefe and the salty old pilots. When we landed (w/o permission), it was my job to get out of the plane with a bunch of twenties and a bottle of Johnny Walker Red and ask: “Hay una problema? Necesitamos a tomar una copita y discutirlo. Pues?”
Nothing like greasing palms in the tropics.
